🔍 What are Angles?
An angle is formed when two rays meet at a common point called the vertex. The rays are called the arms or sides of the angle.
📏 Types of Angles
Obtuse Angle (90° - 180°)
🔄 Angle Relationships
-
Complementary Angles: Two angles that add up to 90°
-
Supplementary Angles: Two angles that add up to 180°
-
Adjacent Angles: Angles that share a common vertex and side
-
Vertical Angles: Opposite angles formed by intersecting lines (always equal)
📐 Measuring Angles
Angles are measured in degrees (°). A full rotation is 360°. We use a protractor to measure angles accurately.
Steps to measure an angle:
- Place the center of the protractor on the vertex
- Align one arm with the 0° line
- Read the measurement where the other arm crosses the scale
