🔍 What are Angles?

An angle is formed when two rays meet at a common point called the vertex. The rays are called the arms or sides of the angle.

📏 Types of Angles

Acute Angle (0° - 90°)

Right Angle (90°)

Obtuse Angle (90° - 180°)

120°

Straight Angle (180°)

180°

🔄 Angle Relationships

  • Complementary Angles: Two angles that add up to 90°
  • Supplementary Angles: Two angles that add up to 180°
  • Adjacent Angles: Angles that share a common vertex and side
  • Vertical Angles: Opposite angles formed by intersecting lines (always equal)

📐 Measuring Angles

Angles are measured in degrees (°). A full rotation is 360°. We use a protractor to measure angles accurately.

Steps to measure an angle:
  1. Place the center of the protractor on the vertex
  2. Align one arm with the 0° line
  3. Read the measurement where the other arm crosses the scale
